NEW DELHI: In September 2016, Reliance Jio introduced its portable Wi-Fi hotspot JioFi in the country at Rs 1,999. However, keeping in mind the festive season, the company has slashed the price of the device by Rs 1,000. Customers can now purchase the Reliance JioFi device at Rs 999. The company tweeted about the new offer and it is only valid from September 20 to September 30.

To recall, the Reliance JioFi comes with an OLED display which gives information about power, network strength, Wi-Fi status and more. The device also enables the users to access Jio 4G internet and create personal Wi-Fi hotspots. Reliance JioFi can support up to 10 Wi-Fi-enabled devices and one via USB. It is backed by a 2300mAh battery which promises to deliver up to 6 hours of battery life. It also supports HD voice calls, video calls and messaging via Jio4GVoice app.

To purchase Reliance JioFi hotspot, customers just have to visit their nearest Reliance Retail, Reliance Digital or Digital Xpress Mini store, along with valid proof of address and identity (both original and photocopy). A passport-size photo is also needed. Post that, they have to call on from their registered mobile number to activate data.

Recently, Reliance Jio revamped its tariff plan for both pre-paid and post-paid users. Though the new plans still start at Rs 19, the data offered and validity of most plans has been increased. The daily FUP limit and other offers including free voice calling remains same for all plans.
