NEW DELHI: One Plus has started rolling out its Oxygen OS 4.5.0 OS update to One Plus 3 and the One Plus 3T devices over-the-air. The update brings some of the features that One Plus 5 comes with. Some UI changes and improvements in the battery’s performance have also been made. The update however, does not bring Android O on board and stays with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The Oxygen OS 4.5 comes with a host of system-level upgrades. The OS version adds the lift up display feature, Gaming Do not Disturb mode, low priority notification and network speed in the status bar. It also brings along the option to schedule Night mode and the One Plus Slate font. The Dash Charge animation is now redesigned and several other stability and battery improvements have also been made as a part of Oxygen OS 4.5.
With the new OTA update, One Plus 3 and the One Plus 3T users will be able to use the Shot on One Plus wallpapers. As for the user interface design, Oxygen OS 4.5 brings a new calling UI and a redesigned photo editor in the Gallery. Secure Box in the File Manager too comes as a part of the update.Since Oxygen OS 4.5 roll out is incremental, not all One Plus 3 and the One Plus 3T users will get the OS version at one go.
One Plus has revealed that the Music app will be removed from the new build. Those who want the app can download its ‘apk’ file. One Plus has started focusing on its offline reach in India recently. Earlier this month Vikas Agarwal, general manager, India confirmed to Gadgets Now that it is partnering with Croma stores in India for offline sales. Agarwal said that One Plus will be making its devices available at Croma across 10 tier-1 cities as a part of phase-1 and more locations will be added later.
