New Delhi:- Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the tax levied on the Aam Aadmi Party fund by the Income Tax department was politically motivated. Saying that AAP was the only party in the country that had all record of the fund collection. If somebody gives Rs 10 for the party fund, it is mentioned in the record clearly. The party has submitted its record to the Election Commission as well as other investigating agencies.
Claiming the BJP was behind this action, Sisodia said, “The Income Tax department served the notice as AAP convenor and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the electorate in Gujarat to vote against the saffron party. The BJP wants to suppress the voice of common man.”
He said that the AAP had hundred per cent transparency in collecting party fund. BJP had already accepted that 87 per cent of its fund came from unknown sources. The High Court had asked the Election Commission to initiate action against the BJP and the Congress for collection funds illegally”. But it was not done. Challenging the BJP and the Congress, Sisodia said that AAP made its fund account public. The BJP and the Congress should also make their fund accounts public, he added.
