Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: A farmer in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur was killed after being run over by his own tractor allegedly driven by loan recovery agents. According to a report Gyanchandra failed to repay around Rs 99,000 of a loan taken to buy a tractor saying Rs 90,000 remain unpaid.In order to recover the unpaid debt, the loan recovery agents arrived at Gyanchandra’s house and tried to take his tractor away.
There, agents snatched the tractor’s keys from Gyanchandra turning a deaf ear to protests about depositing Rs 35,000 of the loan amount. The agents drove off with the tractor and came across Gyanchandra who tried intercepting them in order to stop them from taking his vehicle away. They then forcibly made Gyanchandra sit on the tractor, and then pushed him off and crushed him underneath the vehicle
