Delhi cabinet approves hiring of hospital managers for non-clinical work

A four-member committee of senior doctors was set-up by the government to access the need of specialised man-power and 92 posts were created accordingly for equipment or store, facility management, patient facilitation, and caretaking.

Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya:  Delhi cabinet on Wednesday approved a decision to hire hospital managers, to free doctors from administrative work in its hospitals. Professional managers will be hired on one-year contract will be responsible for managing crowds, timely maintenance of equipment, and ensuring that medicines stores are properly stocked at Delhi government hospitals.

Government had, in fact, sent its senior doctors and some administrative officials to Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, in 2016 to train them in hospital management and improve leadership in the areas of purchase, management of personnel and communication with patients.
