Neighbourhood Technology Desk/Avi Arya: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched the successor to its Mi Mix 2 smartphone today in its home country. Dubbed as the Mi Mix 2S. Compared to its predecessor the major changes include the narrow bezels as well as the dual rear camera setup on the back with 18k gold rim around the camera module. Also, the Mi Mix 2S is the first handset from Xiaomi to support wireless charging.
The dual camera comprises of a 12MP wide angle and a 12MP telephoto lens with optical zoom, OIS and portrait mode features. Xiaomi is claiming it to be better than the camera of the Apple’s special-edition iPhone X. Comes equipped with Artificial Intelligence. For camera, the AI is able to create enhanced bokeh effect. There is also an AI scene detection feature that can detect up to 216 scenes said to capture more life-like images. Is also said to help in capturing the portrait mode using the selfie camera as well.Camera on Mi Mix 2S has a 1.4-micron pixel Sony IMX 363 sensor and has dual-pixel auto-focus technology along phase detection system.
