Neighbourhood Technology Desk: Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones have received a price cut in India. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is now priced at Rs 45,990 while the bigger Galaxy S8+ will bear a price tag of Rs 51,990. Both devices had seen a price correction to Rs 49,990 and Rs 53,990 respectively after the launch of this year’s flagship Galaxy S9 and S9+. The 128GB version of the Galaxy S8+ also received a price cut and costs Rs 64,900 instead of Rs 70,900.
Both offer 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage with support for microSD card. Handsets flaunt a 12MP ‘Dual Pixel’ rear cameras with optical image stabilization, LED flash and f/1.7 aperture. Front of the smartphones consists of an 8MP selfie camera with f/1.7 aperture. Terms of connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type C, NFC and GPS. Handsets also offer support for Samsung Pay, iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, and facial recognition.
