Oppo Realme 1 smartphone launched in India

IOppo Realme 1 in ‘Diamond Black’ colour starts at Rs 8,990.

Neighbourhood Technology Desk: Oppo in partnership with Amazon India launched its first smartphone under the Realme brand. Oppo Realme 1 smartphone is aimed at the youth crowd of India and will be available exclusively via Amazon India on May 25 at 12 pm.


Features a 6-inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P20 AI processor clocked at 2.0GHz. Is fuelled by a 3,410mAh battery with AI battery management. The AI studies the usage pattern and accordingly kills apps running in background to save power.  In the photography department, Oppo Realme 1 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. Front camera comes with ‘AI Shot’ in vivid bokeh mode for selfies.

Also features AR stickers, real-time object recognition and AI beauty. Also features ‘Facial Unlock’ which is claimed to unlock the device in 0.1 seconds. It however doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor. On the software front, it runs ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. Oppo also has a special Indian theme for the Realme 1 smartphone. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Also comes with security features like app hiding, app permissions, and safe box. It also has an AI board which shows weather reports, health tracking and news.
