Neighbourhood Technology Desk: HMD Global on Wednesday launched its new Nokia X series in China. From the series, Nokia X6 is the company’s first smartphone and also the first to feature the iPhone X-like notch display design. Nokia X6 also continues with the company’s design with 95% of its body covered in glass. Is currently available only in China with no word on a global launch as yet. Nokia X6 is offered at three storage variants going up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Nokia X6 features a 5.8-inch full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio, and a 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood of the smartphone runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor. For photography, Nokia X6 sports a dual-camera setup at the rear which is a combination of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. Up front, it houses a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. Connectivity options on the Nokia X6 include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, and FM Radio. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3,060mAh battery along with support for fast charge. On the software front, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The smartphone will also be upgraded to the upcoming Android P OS.
