Neighbourhood Technology Desk: Indian smartphone market leader has announced the launch of its latest interface the MIUI 10. The new MIUI 10 software claims to improve speed, design and sound among other things. Added feature of navigation gestures is that it allows the software to utilize the full-screen displays. AI has been the buzzword for most smartphone companies this year and Xiaomi has also added AI support to MIUI 10. On a related note, Xiaomi has launched a new selfie-centric smartphone, the Redmi Y2.
The Redmi Y2 comes with a 16-megapixel front camera with auto-HDR and AI Beautify 4.0 feature. The front camera is also capable of capturing the portrait mode. On the back, there is a dual camera setup of 12MP and 5MP sensors with LED flash. It runs on MIUI 9.5 based on Android Oreo, making it the first device to run on this Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. The company has priced the 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage variant at Rs 9,999 and the 4GB RAM with the 64GB internal storage variant at Rs 12,999 respectively. The smartphone boasts of a 5.99-inch HD+ screen and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 process coupled with Adreno 506 GPU.
