Neighbourhood Entertainment Desk: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has continued the fantastic run Hollywood films are having in India. After the record breaking debut of Avengers: Infinity War and solid opening weekend numbers of Deadpool 2, the sequel to 2015’s blockbuster dinosaur adventure made Rs 53 crore in its first three days in India. Reviews for the dino spectacle have been mixed, with some praising direction as being better than the first Jurassic World. The film currently sits at a precarious 62% on the review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes.

The Hindustan Times review of the film – which you can read here – criticized the thin plot and lack of inventiveness for a franchise that relies so heavily on nostalgia. Fallen Kingdom is the fourth Hollywood film to have performed exceptionally this year. Avengers Infinity War became the biggest foreign film of all time, with a gross of over Rs 250 crore, followed by around Rs 70 crore each for Deadpool 2 and Black Panther. The first Jurassic World made approximately Rs 150 crore.
