Neighbourhood News Desk/Simran Nijhawan: Mumbai rains will continue to batter the city on Monday according to IMD weather report. Several areas witnessed traffic snarls due to heavy waterlogging, local trains running late. A 15-year-old boy was among four people killed in Mumbai city and Thane district. National Disaster Management Authority alerted people to stay away from electric poles and fallen power lines to avoid electrocution. It also advised people to stay away from sewerage lines, gutters, drains and culverts. An average of 103.25 mm of rainfall was recorded between 8.30 am to 5:30 pm in Navi Mumbai. However, flight operations have not been affected.
Nagendra Nagarjun, an 18-year-old boy, fell into a manhole near Evershine Nagar in Malad (west) and drowned on Monday morning. He was pulled out and taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Heavy waterlogging reported at Sanpada in Navi Mumbai, Ulwe Belapur internal road, SV road. Local train services on the western railway during the morning peak hour are operating with a delay of 20 minutes.
