Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: There has been a 110% jump in the number of women candidates securing admission to the two- year MBA course of Delhi University’s Faculty Management Studies (FMS) .The Masters of Business Administration (MBA) has a total intake of 226 students. This year, 83 women have already been admitted compared to 39 last year. Admissions will conclude in July end and so there is a possibility of the number going up.
One of the reasons for this could be a change in admission criteria this year, Till last year, FMS used to give 85% weightage to CAT score and 15% weightage to personal interview and extempore. This year, the weightage to CAT score has been reduced to 60%. The class 10 and class 12 marks hold of 5% weightage each. FMS has also introduced a group discussion round that carries 10% weightage. With class 10 and 12 marks being included in the final results, the score of women candidates has possibly gone higher as well.
