Victim was a student of class 6 at a government school in Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area and lived in the neighbourhood with his parents, who work as daily wagers.
Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: Body of an 11-year-old boy – who had gone missing while playing near his home in outer Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy on Monday evening was found dead in an agricultural field in the neighbourhood on Wednesday morning. Injuries on the boy’s head indicated that he was murdered. Ruling out sexual assault, the DCP said that a murder case in the matter has been registered at Shahbad Dairy police station.
The boy, identified by his first name Vikas, was a student of class 6 at a government school in Shahbad Dairy and lived in the neighbourhood with his parents, who work as daily wagers. A week ago, Vikas and his parents had been to their village in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj. Boy had returned with some relatives three days ago while his parents stayed back for a few more days. Since his return, he had been staying with his relatives in the same neighbourhood. Search came to an end around 10 am on Wednesday when a passerby spotted the boy’s body in an agricultural field around 500 metres from his home.
