Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) threatens malls, hospitals and hotels by refusing to renew their health and trading licences due to them constantly charging parking fees. Just last week a warning was issued to these establishments. If left unheeded, actions will be taken.

Shikha Rai, chairperson of the (SDMC) standing committee said that the officials took action against the violators and closed off the parking area’s in some of the malls and hospitals after directions were re-issued in October-November 2017. In 2015, the civic agency had then passed a resolution directing malls, hospitals etc. to provide free parking on their premises, but these establishments must have a licence form the Municipal agencies in order to run the parking facilities.
