South Delhi Municipal Corporation objects to Public Works Department circular
Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: SDMC objects to orders given given by the PWD that asks the Municipal Corporations to remove the debris from the road. Mayor of the SDMC Narendra Chawla said that the corporations might not carry the task due to lack of funding and also said that in a statement that the construction debris from the PWD projects along with the cleanliness of the city etc. stating that the order is a political move to show the MCD’s failure.
Mayor of the SDMC also states that they will take up this issue with the L-G Anil Baijal and request him to use his “good offices” to get their due funds released as well as alleged that the three MCD’s were facing a financial crunch due to the Delhi Government sitting over the the center’s funds that were meant for them. Also adding that the Delhi Government didn’t give any money for sanitation works but also scraped the sanitation head altogether.
