Brain food that boosts memory and concentration

Neighbourhood Lifestyle Desk/Avi Arya: Eventhough we do everything we can to stay fit and insure that we have weight loss, we can’t extend the same type of care for our brain. Ignoring the care for our brain has it’s downsides and brain ageing results in leading to dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Here are five different foods for better brain health:

1) Blueberries:

Protects the brain from oxidative stress and reduces the effects of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia as well as improve learning capacity and motor skills.

2) Coconut:

It’s water and oil are useful in dealing with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease in the short term and also has an anti-inflammatory effect.

 

 

3) Walnuts:

Considered Brain food and are rich in antioxidants and Omega 3 fatty acids which can boost one’s memory.

4) Yoghurt:

A complete super food and contains amino acids for production of neurotransmitters, that get depleted under a lot of stress.

 

5) Tumeric:

Contains anti-inflammatory compounds that helps in keeping our memory sharp and also contains curcumin that helps in boosting the brain and helps it heal.
