Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: Delhi University plans to it’s pg courses in order for it to fit into the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The semester system is currently in place in which students are evaluated on the basis of marks and through CBCS, marks will be converted into grades.
Standing committee for the academic affairs has recently approved on courses like MCom and MBA, they also plan to revive UG courses such as BSc courses in maths, statistics and physics.
A member said “Ideally, we should have decided on this matter last year, so that the new syllabus was implemented this year. That way, the faculties would have a year to understand the system and make relevant changes before the first CBCS PG batch”.
Several faculties have decided to reconsider the UG CBCS syllabus which was prepared three years back since it was in a hurry. They complained that the syllabus doesn’t have much relevance and there is a pressure on them based on teaching very thick concepts in such a short span of time.
