Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: Water supply to large parts of south and central Delhi including areas of the New Delhi Municipal Council would be hit for at least 18 hours since Delhi Jal Board is taking up some of the maintenance work. All the residents have been advised by the board that they should store enough water since the water pressure will start decreasing.
The DJB said in a statement “There will be an 18-hour shutdown of the South Delhi main line that emerges from Sonia Vihar water treatment plant”.
Areas where the water supply is likely to be affected are Kailash Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan, Jal Vihar, Lajpat Nagar, Moolchand, Greater Kailash, Vasant Kunj, Devli, Ambedkar Nagar, Okhla, Dakshinpuri, Panchsheel Marg, Shahpur Jat, Kotla Mubarakpur, Defense Colony, Sarita Vihar, Apollo, Siddharth Enclave, Greater Kailash (North), Malviya Nagar, Deer Park, Geetanjali, Sriniwaspuri, Greater Kailash, Chhattarpur, and areas that are under the New Delhi Municipal Council.
Officials from the Jal Board said that water tankers will be available at the following numbers, these numbers are- Greater Kailash (29234746), Giri Nagar (26473720), Jal Sadan (29819035 / 29814106), Vasant Kunj (26137216), Sarita Vihar (29941824 / 29941825) and Central Control Room (1916 / 23538495).
