Microdot Technology used to curb vehicle thefts in Delhi

Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal instructed the authorities to explore the plan of installing various devices like anti- vehicle theft equipment a “mandatory condition” for the registration of vehicles.

Officials say that the Delhi Government is looking at various types of technologies in order to minimize the motor thefts; ‘microdot technology’ is one of them.

The use of marking vehicles with microdots is known as Whole of Vehicle Marking (WoVM) and is being used all over the world to prevent and reduce motor vehicle thefts. Since each part of the vehicle is linked to the vehicle’s registration number, even if the vehicle is dismantled, it can easily be traced back to its owner.
