Delhi’s last jumbo set seized after violation at ITM 2018

Neighbourhood News Desk/ Anita Yadav: Two elephants were used as props at India Tourism Mart (ITM) 2018 at Ashok Hotel, Chanakyapuri. which violates several sections of the wildlife protection act 1972. An activist Gauri Maulekhi wrote a letter and report to Delhi police for violation of animals.
 This illegal irony leads to seizing six of Delhi’s last seven elephants by forest department after the high court order. Jumbos being used as a joyride, amusement at wedding, parties and events, and others are in bad condition.
Two elephants sent to Rajaji National Park in Uttarakhand, but the forest department hasn’t found any care-taker for other four saved elephants.
