Neighbourhood Lifestyle Desk/Avi Arya: When it comes to getting a good workout done, your form, posture or workout gear; all of these are considered secondary. The main important thing you need to pay attention to is your breathing and yet despite the fact that we breathe all the time we don’t that much attention to the right techniques, especially when it comes to working out.
Breathing is considered an important aspect in workout since it supports all the other functions. Here are some tips to get your breathing right:
When you’re doing a cardio activity, go for long breaths. Avoid shallow, short breaths which show that you are working too hard. Also means that you have not set a good breathing schedule during the workout. Go for stronger and deeper breaths and find your rhythm as you go along.
Breathing is important, especially when attempting to do heavy lifting. When you’re doing strength training, breathe out during the difficult part of the lift. This will help you be steadier.
To help the body in relaxing. Start by slow and steady breathing. Try to focus on your breathing from the diaphragm, this will make your stomach move in and out. Slow steady breathing is preferable when stretching and will help you relax.
