Neighbourhood Travel Desk: Deolo Hill is one of the two hills where the town of Kalimpong stands between. Kalimpong is situated on a ridge connecting the two hills, Durpin and Deolo. This hill is the highest point in the town.
Three water reservoirs which serve as the livelihood source to the town are present atop of the hill. Beautiful Teesta River and its valleys all can be viewed from this point. The snow-clad mountains of West Sikkim are also visible from this hill. The park at Deolo is a popular picnic spot for tourists as well as locals which presents a wide range of exotic flowers. Overall it provides a panoramic 360-degree view of Kalimpong town and its neighbouring hills.
There is a well-maintained tourist inn at the hill which is run by the government. You need to make bookings in advance to avoid inconvenience as this property is quite famous for of its outstanding location.
