Delhi Government stops burning of incense sticks

Do not burn incense stick, avoid outdoor activity: Government agency issues advisory to Delhiites

Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: If you’re having thoughts on lighting incense sticks as part of the puja rituals then we should all stop right now. Since the air quality in Delhi has already reached the “severe” category, this directive about the incense sticks was actually part of an advisory by a government agency which also warned people against any outdoor activity.

The System of Air Quality Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) asked Delhiites not to rely on dust masks for protection as city’s air quality turned ‘severe’ for the first time this season.

Agency advised that all Delhiites to avoid all outdoor activities and give a miss to walk and also recommend frequent wet mopping and using masks known as N-95 or P-100 respirators only for outdoor activities.
