Banning non-CNG vehicles inappropriate or not?

Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: Experts have recently reminded everyone that a ban is putout on vehicles that don’t run on CNG in Delhi, since it’s being approved by the Supreme Court’s Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority(EPCA) could be considered inappropriate, they also doubted if the existing transport infrastructure could support the sudden passenger increase.

Many say that only using the CNG vehicles, that’s planned byEPCA, would hardly help in the situation. According to the data from thetransport department, out of 33 lakh private vehicles registered in Delhi, only4.5 lakh vehicles run on CNG.

Transport experts wonder why EPCA wasn’t pulling up the Delhi government for the sluggish implementation of the new mandatory stickers for vehicles that would help traffic police differentiate cars based on fuel type.
