New expressway helps counter pollution

Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: As Delhi continues to suffer under severe air pollution, the NCR may soon get a breather starting from next week with the unveiling of the 83-kilometer stretch of the Western Peripheral Expressway.

This expressway is known as the Kondli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP expressway) and will bypass thousands of trucks that otherwise pollute the region of Delhi. This is to be approved by PM Narendra Modi next week and is considered one of the most awaited projects to help counter pollution.

It helps in providing an alternative route to vehicles headed for Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and is expected to help ease traffic flow, especially that of heavy vehicles.
