IIT students develops device to help women

Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: Students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi have developed a device that is beneficial for women and will also help them avoid public dirty bathrooms.

This device for women is a “stand and pee device” called Sanfe and was launched on the World Toilet Day and was tried and tested at the AIIMS. Its coating material is water resistant in nature, biodegradable and ergonomically designed.

Archit Agarwal, a BTech student and the co-founder of Sanfe, said, “Lack of hygiene in public washrooms exposes one out of every two women to Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). Concerned by this we innovated this female stand and pee device so that they can maintain a safe distance from the toilet seats and protect themselves from the possibility of getting infected”.
