PMO may step in to resolve delay of project

Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: In order to resolve the issue in the delay of the Dwarka Expressway Project, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) might step in to resolve this issue.

Officials said that a high-level meeting has been called bythe PMO to discuss about these issues. This project that costed Rs 7,500 crorewas actually planned in 2006 has recently been delayed for more than a decade dueto land acquisition and legal hurdles.

According to the senior ministry officials, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) agreed to provide the land to NHAI for afforestation of the trees and NHAI was to bear the entire cost. This project involves felling or translocation of around 13,000 trees.
