JNU administration denies to cut library budget

Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: The administration of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has recently denied claims stating that the annual fund for its central library has been cut by 75%.

Last week JNU students’ union (JNUSU) stated that that the University has reduced the annual library fund from R 8 crore to R 1.7 crore. They also stated that the administration was spending R 7- 8 crores on the library budget from various sources till last year.   

The students’ union said that due to the alleged reduction in the budget, their research work is also affected as well since they can’t renew their e-journals and e-subscription.
