Supreme Court asks CPCB for prosecution approval

Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: Supreme Court (SC) has recently asked the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to approve the prosecution of government officials.

This is due to not taking any action after receiving many complaints about the pollution in Delhi. A bench of Justices Madan B Lokur and Deepak Gupta said that officials who have failed to act on the complaints were required to be prosecuted.

Regarding the decision to prosecute those responsible for not acting on the complaints, Additional Solicitor General ANS Nadkarni said that the CPCB would look into it.
