Neighbourhood News Desk/Avi Arya: For those that want to see the Taj Mahal will have to pay hefty prices starting from December 10 onwards.
Vasant Swarnakar, Archaeological Survey of India’s chief archaeologist in Agra, said that domestic visitors will have to pay Rs 250 and foreign visitors Rs 1,300. For visitors from SAARC countries Rs. 740 will be the new price instead of Rs. 540.
Visitors who buy Rs 50 tickets won’t be allowed to enter the main mausoleum, but instead be able to move around the Taj, and the Yamuna river front. Reasons for this new ticketing system are to help reduce human load on the main structure.
