In order to boost the faith of the public in general medicines, India’s drug controller decides to put strict quality control measures in place.
Through this move, the general drug manufacturers need to prove quality and safety equality. Despite the government promoting these medicines, no popularity has been gained due to quality concerns.
Dr S Eswara Reddy, drug controller general of India said, “There needs to be enough confidence among masses as they still tend to ask for a branded drug first. As the country’s drug regulator, I feel the need to change that perception and build confidence among people”.
