On January 1, 2019 Vidhan Sabha complex in north Delhi’s Civil Lines turns green through installing a 100kw solar power plant.
This was approved by the state power minister Satyendar Jain, along with several MLA’s apart from Speaker Ram Niwas Goel that were also present at the function as well.
According to the officials, the solar plant installed through the cost of Rs. 7.35 lakh and has a life span of 25 years. This also takes care of 25% of the buildings demand power in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, and will also help in saving Rs10 lakh annually on account of the power bill.
