A survey was made by a group of transport researchers from IIT-Delhi, around the city’s roads and public places and found 2,099 vehicles abandoned along road sides. This number doesn’t include the seized vehicles lying outside police stations.
It was said that these abandoned vehicles are the major reason for traffic bottlenecks, especially on neighbourhood and internal roads and are considered a traffic menace.
It was also said that over four months they were lying on the roadsides for such a long time with some of their tires buried under the ground.
