Neighbourhood News Desk/New Delhi/Avi Arya

In demanding permanent jobs, 500 ad-hoc teachers of Delhi University plan to go on an indefinite hunger strike from January 4, 2019.

This announcement was made after the Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) observed a strike on January 2, 2019, to protest against the university administration’s delay in resolving several issues, including implementing UGC Regulations 2018, the regularization and absorption of ad-hoc teachers etc.

According to the existing provisions, the university has to adopt the 2018 UGC regulations by January 18 as well as confirm the orders for them.
