In order to minimize damages that are caused by terrorist attacks, Delhi airport plans to soon get a fleet of six bullet-resistant vehicles (BRVs) equipped with the latest weapons and space for up to four armed personnel.
These BRV’s will soon roll out by the end of January 2019, after completing their testing in Ahmadabad and Gujarat. According to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Delhi airport will be the first airport in India to have BRV’s, along with other sensitive airports such as Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad etc.
Even the Airports Authority of India (AAI) are also in the process of finalizing the specifications for airports that are operated by them in connection with the BRVs.
