According to the officials, Barapullah nallah has become a part of the pilot project. The nallah will now generate almost 1000 litres per day for the capital. It may increase water production to 1 lakh litres per day in the next six months during which biofuel will also be generated. Officials added that after this project, the water quality will improve drinking standards.
Local treatment of Urban Sewage Streams of Healthy Reuse project in which IIT Delhi, NEERI, TERI and DBT-ICT Centre for Energy Biosciences have been involved along with Netherland government.
