Street crimes occur more on days than in nights

According to the report from the Delhi police 56 percent of street crimes have occurred in broad daylight, whereas 44 percent for these crimes are committed at night.

In the data, it shows that in 2016, 9,197 street crime incidents were reported compared to the 8,070 in 2017 and 6,642 in 2018. In 2018, 57 percent of crimes were solved compared to the 56 and 35 percent in 2017 and 2016.

In order to stop this, hotspots have been identified and focused, patrols intensified along with focus on elicit community policing, mapping time-wise and area-wise incidents, and intense picket checking at crime-prone areas.
