On January 14, 2019, Delhi government was pulled up by the Delhi High Court for not responding on time to a five-year-old differently abled boy’s plea. He had no choice but to forfeit his admission to a private school due to lack of required facilities.
The boy, that’s 100% hearing impaired, was selected in a draw of lots at Hazari Lal Public School, Khera Khurd. However, authorities told his parents that the school wasn’t equipped to cater to the boy’s special needs.
This plea also challenged the online admissions under EWS/DG category, stating that the process was non-transparent and created even more hassles for the marginalized groups.
