According to the Gurugram Police data for June to December of 2018, less than 10 out of 100 traffic offenders in Gurugram have paid the penalty through postal documents that are sent to their addresses.
Out of all the 20,000 postal documents issued from June to December 2018, only 1,700 have been paid so far. Officials said that these documents are issued on the basis of photographic evidence of a traffic violation.
Despite only 8.5% of offenders, having paid the penalty, the Gurugram Police is pressing ahead with its plan to issue these postal documents to these violators by placing cameras on top of cabs in order to capture the footage of the offenders.
