Indian Railways has announced 2.3 lakh additional job vacancies that can be filled over the next 2 years. The new bill of 10% quota for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in the general category will also be applicable in these vacancies. Around 23,000 railway jobs will be reserved for candidates belonging to EWS. The recruitment process will be carried out in two phases.
The first phase will begin from February-March, 2019 and will be ended by April-May, 2020. This will be applicable for 1,31,428 railway posts. On the other hand, the second phase will start between May-June 2020 and will be completed by July-August, 2021. This will be applicable for 99,000 railway jobs.
