After the 10 % quota bill has been passed for EWS in general category by the cabinet, Gujjar community also demanded 5% reservation in government jobs as well as in academic institutions. The ‘mahapanchayat’ called by the community in Rajasthan has threatened to do massive agitation if the reservation has not been approved by the government in the next 11 days. Earlier, the government had approved 1% reservation for Gujjars and other backward classes.
