Starting from February 4-10, Road Safety Week, 2019, will start taking place. This event will feature a walkathon on February 4 from India Gate to mark the beginning of event, where Students from various schools, colleges, and volunteers from different NGOs and corporate houses will participate.
This event will be backed up by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and National Road Safety Council. The Traffic unit of the Delhi police has planned out an awareness campaign and activities. These activities will help reduce traffic violations and make people follow the rules of the road.
The Campaign’s aim is to make people aware of the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts. They also help in spreading awareness against drunken driving, over speeding, overloading and overcrowding of vehicles carrying goods from commercials.
