While inspecting the air purifying units known as WAYUs (Wind Augmentation Purifying Units), officials found Cigarette butts, bidi packets, chewing gums and wires thrown inside these units.

Scientists have already begun to replace many of these units, which are considered testing units with new ones. The purpose of these units is for them to clean the air. That’s why more than 70 of these machines were installed last year at some of the most polluted road intersections such as ITO, Anand Vihar, Wazirpur Chowk, Shadipur and Bhikaji Cama.

Now 19 of these old machines are already being replaced by these new versions, where they can clean 2,500m3 air per hour and will occupy less place.
