East Delhi plans to gain a second waste-to-energy (WTE) plant. It’s similar to the plant that’s in Ghazipur, and this new plant can handle fresh waste.
It has a capacity of 2,000 metric tonnes and also produces 12 Megawatts of electricity. It will include a bio-methanation plant, an aerobic composter and a small C&D waste plant to create tiles from fly ash.
The Location still has to be decided. With the help of the Delhi Development Authority, there are still some sites to be decided such as; Ghazipur, Ghonda Gujran and Sonia Vihar.
