There were many reports in cases of Swine Flu. But this was the first case reported in India was of a pregnant woman who happens to be a swine flu patient and both she and her child were able to survive.
It started at the end of December, when the patient was coming down with high fever and was prescribed medicine for it. Four days later, she started getting breathless and doctors at Delhi hospital decided to take a risk by performing an X-ray, despite her being pregnant and discovered that her lungs were collapsing.
She was put on the ventilator, and was immediately moved to an ECMO, which improved her oxygen levels. Twenty seven days later, she was discharged along with being told that her baby inside her is still healthy.
