On February 18, the National Museum in Delhi will be launching its display of the Nizam’s Jewels. This collection contains 173 precious items, which also includes the famous Jacob diamond, which is considered almost double the size of the Kohinoor diamond.
The exhibition will remain open for the public from February 19 to May 5, 10am to 6pm. Entry ticket of Rs 50 per person. This also displays about 28 showcases, including necklaces, pairs of bracelets and bangles, earrings, armlets, finger rings etc.
The Nizam’s Jewellery is considered one of the largest and richest collections of jewels and was purchased in 1995 by the Government of India at a cost of Rs 218 crore.
