Women feel unsafe when commuting

When it comes to travelling within Delhi, 4 out of 10 people began to feel insecure. But take women into consideration, then the number goes to 47%.

Through studies by the NGO Praja foundation, 40% of the people interviewed still felt insecure, where as 50% of the women said the same thing as well. 39% of south Delhi residents and 51% in parts of northeast Delhi, including the Shahdara district, felt unsafe including the Number of women which is 42%.

72% of the cases are reported through Dial 100 emergency response system while 23% claimed they didn’t have the time and 21% didn’t have faith in the police or legal system. This study also shows that both skilled and unskilled laborers felt least secure compared to the middle-income group which includes traders, businessman, supervisors and officers.
