Rain cleans Delhi air

Authorities say that on February 26, a major improvement occurred in Delhi’s air quality, due to rainfall washing away the pollutants as well as bringing down the pollution level. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), data shows the air quality index (AQI) in Delhi is 119, which is in the ‘moderate’ category.

The CPCB said that the air quality which was recorded in Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Greater Noida has also reached the ‘moderate’ category. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Delhi had received 2.4 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
