A new payment aggregator system, known as the IRCTC iPay has just been launched by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). It’s considered a step which helps in promoting the government’s Digital India initiative.
The catering and ticketing group of the railways gave a statement saying that this digital payment gateway will provide an improved online digital payment convenience and is considered an easy way of doing business to the passengers. This will also help in all travel related services that are being done through the IRCTC website.
The statement also said that passengers won’t need any third-party platforms, due to the IRCTC iPay providing payment options such as credit card, debit card, UPI (Unified Payment Interface), International Card. Through this new arrangement, the IRCTC will also have full control of the payment system due to its direct relationship with acquiring banks, card networks and other partners.
